My Chemical Romance Bio
Formed in Newark, New Jersey, in 2001, My Chemical Romance became one of the defining alternative rock bands of the 2000s. The group—Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Frank Iero, and Mikey Way—is known for theatrical performances and emotionally charged songs that connect with a devoted fan community often called the MCR Army. After disbanding in 2013, the band announced its return in 2019 with a sold-out Los Angeles show.
Albums including Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade helped establish the band's lasting influence across emo and alternative rock. Songs such as “Welcome to the Black Parade,” “Helena,” and “I'm Not Okay (I Promise)” have become signature singalongs. The supplied event information lists Franz Ferdinand on the lineup; a specific tour title and Citi Field performance history are not confirmed in the event details.
The Flushing date brings the band to a New York City-area stadium, within reach of the band's New Jersey origins. Citi Field has hosted major live events, but no previous My Chemical Romance dates at this venue are specified here.
